Planning the Structure of an Anti-Virus Network

Top  Previous  Next

To create an anti-virus network

1.Install Dr.Web Server software on the selected computer or computers (Dr.Web Security Control Center is installed with it).
2.Via the Control Center, update and configure the Server software.
3.Configure the Server (Servers) and workstations software.
4.Send the drwcsd.pub public encryption key (the structure of the Server installation folder is given in the Administrator Manual, in the Dr.Web Server section) to the register@av-desk.com address for registration in Doctor Web company.
5.Install and configure the Proxy Server, if necessary.
6.Via the Control Center, create accounts for new users. If necessary, join the accounts in groups. As you have specified all necessary parameters, links to download Agent installation files will appear. Send the links on the Agent installation files  to your clients.
7.Wait until users have downloaded and installed Dr.Web Agent software on their computers.

Agents establish a connection with the Server immediately after the installation. Anti-virus workstations are authorized at the Server according to the set policy (see Administrator Manual, p. New Stations Approval Policy).

8.Via the Control Center, register the anti-virus stations by sending a financial report to Doctor Web company (see Administrator Manual, the Reports section).

Dr.Web Server can be installed on any computer of the local network, not only on that functioning as a local network server. General system requirements to this computer are described in p. System Requirements.

Dr.Web Security Control Center can be opened on any computer, not just on the one with Dr.Web Server installed. There should be a network connection with a computer on which the Server is installed.

The anti-virus network can incorporate several Dr.Web Servers. The features of such configuration are described in Administrator Manual, p. Peculiarities of a Network with Several Dr.Web Servers.

To install the Server one-time access (physical or with use of remote control and launch programs tools) to the correspondent computers is required. Software for anti-virus stations is installed locally by users, as a rule. In local networks remote installation via Dr.Web Security Control Center is also possible. All further steps will be taken from the administrator’s workplace and will not require access to Dr.Web Servers and workstations.
